Catherine Kaputa is a twenty year veteran of branding and advertising – from Madison Avenue to Wall Street to the halls of academe to the founder of her own company, SelfBrand, a New York City-based brand strategy firm that works with people, products and companies.
Brand Strategist and Marketing Consultant
Breaking through in the business world through smart branding and marketing strategies is the focus of Catherine’s consulting.
Catherine looks at trends in branding, marketing, advertising and media: what’s working, what isn’t and why, what the new ideas are, and what you need to think about for the future. She likes to take the veil off the branding, advertising and worlds and reveal what’s really taking place and which brands are making the smart moves.
Catherine also consuls on sales strategy and sales training, and developed Sell SMART ™, a way of selling that incorporates branding principles to be more productive.
SelfBrand Coaching
In her business coaching Catherine leverages the ideas in her new book, U R A BRAND! How Smart People Brand Themselves for Business Success. Catherine shows people how to create a personal brand that is uniquely you and helps you achieve your goals– whether you aspire to the corner office or just want to perform better on the job. Self branding is about “soft power.” It’s about harnessing what is unique, relevant and valuable about your brand and leveraging those assets. It’s also about thinking in terms of markets like a brand manager does, and what perceptions the market has about you. And developing a marketing plan to get from A to B to C.
Talks and Workshops
Each speech Catherine gives is unique and directed to the current audience. To do that, Catherine strategizes beforehand with the meeting’s planners and key executives, so that she can develop a message targeted to the individual audience. (Thinking like a brand means personalizing a message to each target audience.) Click for a discussion of her current talks and workshops.
